About the artist

Southview Willow

Angela Cross is an artist and basket maker whose work celebrates the ancient relationship between people and the natural world.

Drawn to the rhythm and patience of weaving, she creates baskets that showcase her individual expression and honour traditional techniques. Working mainly with willow and other natural fibres, Angela values the slow and mindful process of transforming raw materials into creations that are both useful and beautiful. Her City & Guilds Level 3 in Creative Crafts has deepened her understanding of form, function and heritage design. Angela is a member of The Basketmakers’ Association.

Angela shares and sells her work at local markets and events, and welcomes commissions for beautiful bespoke baskets made to be used, cherished, and enjoyed.
